Capture an Electronic Signature

Background

CounterGo and JobTracker do not currently have built-in support for capturing electronic signatures. However it is possible to capture signatures via a tablet running a 3rd party app, then attach the signature image file to the quote/job.

Recommendations

Some Moraware customers have recommended:
SignEasy (for iPad) -- search for "SignEasy" in the app store, install it, test it, and make an account.

Once SignEasy is installed, go back to CounterGo and print a Quote on your iPad (which creates a pdf). You'll see an option at the top of the screen to "Open in SignEasy" (sometimes you have to tap near the top of the screen to make that option reappear). 

From there, it's easy to have the customer sign it (probably want to use "2nd party" and/or "3rd party" signatures so that they're not saved) and mail YOU a copy. Once that's done, you'll see an email icon that you can tap again to mail the customer a copy.

The only flaw of doing this on the iPad is that there's no way to re-import the signed PDF into Moraware while you're on the iPad (it's an iPad security thing) - instead, someone should go through the copies that get automatically mailed and upload them from their desktop. Not perfect, but not bad.

In order to upload it right from a tablet, you'll need to use a Windows device like a Surface Pro.

Tips

When storing signatures in JobTracker, a good idea is to create a File Type of "Signature". This can be done under Job::Edit Settings::File Custom Fields.
